PHOENIX – The Phoenix Suns have made a significant move to strengthen their front court. In a trade with the Charlotte Hornets, they acquired backup center Nick Richards in exchange for forward Josh Okogie and three second-round picks, as reported by ESPN NBA Insider Shams Charania.

Richards Joins a Crowded Frontcourt With Richards joining Nurkic, Plumlee, Oso Ighodaro, and Bol Bol, the Suns now have five centers. They are expected to actively shop Nurkic before the trade deadline.
Richards’ Performance In his fifth year, Richards is averaging 8.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in 21 games. He showed up in a January 7 game against the Suns, scoring 15 points and grabbing 12 rebounds,
leading Charlotte to a 115-104 win.
