In the state, college football fans will be able to enjoy up to three different bowl games this season. No. 3 Boise State will take on the winner between No. 6 Penn State and No. 11 SMU in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Rutgers and Kansas State go head-to-head in the Rate Bowl at Chase Field in Phoenix and Colorado State vs. Miami University (Ohio) will commence in the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl presented by Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop at Arizona Stadium in Tucson.

The Mountain West champion Boise State, led by running back sensation Ashton Jeanty, will await the winner of Penn State and SMU after the Broncos clinched a first-round bye. A three-time Fiesta Bowl winner, Boise State returns to Glendale after beating Arizona in 2014, TCU in 2010 and Oklahoma in 2007.

In the only Big 12 vs. Big Ten clash during Bowl Season, Kansas State (8-4, 5-4 Big 12) and Rutgers (7-5, 4-5 Big Ten) are set for an interesting battle on the day after Christmas. A dangerous force in the Big 12 for a majority of the season, Kansas State had a magical 7-1 start and was nationally ranked. Rutgers, meanwhile, has won three of its last four and lost to No. 20 Illinois by only seven, 38-31 two weeks ago. The last time these two schools met, Rutgers crushed Kansas State 37-10 in the 2006 Texas Bowl.

As for the Arizona Bowl, Miami University (8-5, 7-1 MAC) and Colorado State (8-4, 6-1 Mountain West) will take over the University of Arizona’s stadium. Dominating the MAC, Miami has not lost a game since Oct. 5 to Toledo while Colorado State has won five of its last six games.

The Rate Bowl will kick off the Bowl Season in Arizona on Dec. 26 at 3:30 p.m. MST. The Arizona Bowl will be on Dec. 28 at 2:30 p.m. MST and the Fiesta Bowl is on Dec. 31 at 5:30 p.m. MST.
