For the first time, ASU and Iowa State will go head-to-head in football and seek to win the Big 12 title that is up for grabs this weekend.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! Both teams finished the season with winning streaks and by scenarios around the league going in their favor, they will settle who is the best team in the conference at AT&T Stadium in Texas, the home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.
As one of the hottest teams in college football, Arizona State has not lost a game since mid-October and won each of its past five games. Suffering a two-game blip in which they lost 23-22 to Texas Tech and 45-36 to Kansas back-to-back in early November, the Cyclones have bounced back with consecutive victories over Cincinnati, Utah and Kansas State.
It will be an interesting matchup since the Sun Devils won’t have star receiver Jordyn Tyson available as he is dealing with an undisclosed injury. Iowa State’s defense has given up the least amount of points (235) in the Big 12.

Prediction (Season Record: 8-4)
Arizona State 24-17 Iowa State
Missing Tyson is going to hurt Arizona State’s offensive production with his strong connection between him and quarterback Sam Leavitt being one of the stories of the season. Since Leavitt’s No. 1 receiver is unavailable, running back Cam Skattebo will continue to tear the opposition’s defense apart, especially when the Cyclones’ rush defense ranks No. 96 in the country. Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell has been to a Big 12 title game and knows how to get his players prepared for a high-stakes game like this.
ISU is a well-rounded team that will not make it easy for the Sun Devils to have the same success with playing complimentary football as they have had throughout most of the year. It is the first year that Arizona State has been in the Big 12 and with it beating BYU and Kansas State, when they were both ranked, before annihilating Arizona to conclude the regular season, ASU’s momentum will continue into Texas as the Sun Devils will be crowned conference champs.
