Netflix posted yesterday that Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant is among five stars across the NBA who will be featured on the second season of Netflix’s “Starting 5” docuseries.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!A camera crew will follow Durant, James Harden (Los Angeles Clippers), Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder) and Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana Pacers) around during the 2024-25 season and give an inside look at their lives on and off the basketball court.
Durant discussed what he hopes he will bring to the show on the Up and Adams Show with Kay Adams.
“I’m gonna keep it at basketball, man,” Durant said. “They’re going to see how I operate in this space of the NBA, more so than my personal life. You might get a couple tidbits here and there, but for the most part, you’re going to see how I approach the game and the season.”
He then talked about what will surprise people about him.
“Just my personality overall,” Durant said. “I wouldn’t say (I’m) private, since I’ve been around for so long, and I’ve been in the spotlight, but I try to be as normal as I can and not expose what I’m doing as much as I used to. Hopefully people get an insight of who I am, how I see the game and view the game, and how I approach life. Hopefully, they enjoy it, we’ll see.”
The first season, which released earlier this month, showcased Jayson Tatum (Celtics), LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers), Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves), Jimmy Butler (Miami Heat) and Domantas Sabonis (Sacramento Kings) during the 2023-24 season.
Durant is overall looking forward to what the new season will offer for the players.
“Just showing how boring this life is, to be honest man. We don’t do much but sit around, wait for the next game,” Durant joked. “I’m excited for them to see the mindset of NBA players. I like the in-depth look of athletes and what they do throughout the season, behind the scenes and stuff. It’s always cool. It’s for the core basketball fans, who really follow us every day, who really want to get a true insight on who we are.”
What can we expect to see out of KEVIN DURANT as one of the stars of @netflix's Starting 5 season two??? ????️????
