The Arizona Cardinals take on the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium to start their 2024 season. Kickoff is set for 10:00 A.M. MST and will be broadcast on CBS.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! Before the game, the Cardinals announced five inactive players before the game.
- WR Xavier Weaver
- CB Darren Hall
- OLB Jesse Luketa
- OL Jon Gaines II
- TE Travis Vokolek
Weaver had already been ruled out for the game on Friday, as he was a non-participant in practice this week with an oblique injury. The other four inactive players are healthy scratches as depth players on the roster.
Weaver being ruled out of the game likely means that running back Deejay Dallas will serve as the Cardinals’ main returner, both for kickoffs and punts. Gaines will have to wait to make his NFL debut, as the 2023 fourth rounder missed his rookie season with an ACL injury and is inactive for the first game of his second season. That bodes well for their offensive line depth going into the game.
Another thing to note is both Tip Reiman and Joey Blount will suit up to play. Both players were listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report. Reiman and Blount were dealing with ankle and back injuries respectively that limited them in the week.
The Cardinals did not elevate any practice squad players for this game, a good sign for the health of their roster entering their Week 1 matchup.
The Bills will have seven inactive players for the game.
- S Cole Bishop
- LB Joe Andreessen
- LB Eddie Ulofoshio
- DE Javon Solomon
- OL Sedrick Van-Pran Granger
- OL Ryan Van Demark
- DE Dawaune Smoot
Solomon and Smoot both did not practice Friday for the Bills, the former had been ruled out and the other listed as questionable. Bishop was also listed on the injury report but was a full participant all week, so he and the other four players are considered healthy scratches.
