The NBA offseason is here, which means so are nonstop rumors spiraling around social media, put in place by talking heads such as Stephen A. Smith on his show, ‘First Take.’

True to his style, Stephen A. Smith quickly ignited speculation about Kevin Durant’s future with the Phoenix Suns, claiming, “Pay no attention to what Phoenix is saying. They want out of Kevin Durant right now.”

This comes just weeks after Smith suggested that Devin Booker, the Suns’ franchise centerpiece, wanted to move to New York—a rumor that was swiftly debunked.

Before Smith’s comments, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Houston Rockets were interested in trading for Durant. Although this rumor lacked substantial weight, it was enough to stir further speculation.

Attempting to quash these rumors, Durant’s agent, Rich Kleiman, responded to a Bleacher Report Instagram post with a “cap” emoji, indicating the claims were false.

Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman have been business partners since 2016 when they co-founded 35V (Thirty Five Ventures), an investment firm that has backed over 100 companies, including Postmates and Overtime.

On the court, Durant and Devin Booker have achieved a 46-23 record together, both averaging over 25 points per game during this period. Unless significant changes occur, the Suns are confident that this duo, along with new addition Bradley Beal, can lead them to another playoff run next season.
