“This uniform and court are dedicated to our fans and to the Valley itself for helping to bring our 28-year franchise to this watershed moment in women’s sports,” said Mercury President Vince Kozar. “Led by Mat Ishbia, our organization is committed to pushing WNBA investment to new heights, and becoming the first team to develop a second court specifically designed for an alternate uniform – something that has become the standard in the NBA – is another example of that commitment.”
This new Rebel Edition draws inspiration from the Phoenix Suns’ famous “Valley” jersey, and has a pixelated sunset gradient across the sides of the jersey.
These brand new Rebel Edition jerseys will help signify the “new era” being brought to the X-Factor.
“It’s a new dawn, a new day and it has a very vibrant view. That’s why this new era, is dedicated to you.”
The Rebel court becomes the first ever season-long alternate court in WNBA history. Across the sidelines, you can see a statement saying “Home of the X-Factor”.
“This Rebel court represents the intersection of court, community, and culture. A place where all are welcome,” the Mercury’s website states. “Embellished with the iconic sunsets and sunrises only found in The Valley, this hardwood court is a representation of our city and the community within it.”
