As reported by The Draft Network‘s Justin Melo, Colorado State cornerback Chigozie Anusiem is another player who has had pre-draft visits with a group of NFL teams like the Cardinals.

“CSU Rams CB Chig Anusiem ran 4.3s at Pro Day and leaped a 37.5-inch vertical,” Melo said. “Press-man CB size (6-foot-1, 200 pounds) with 93 tackles and 12 PBUs in 2022-23. In-person [meetings] with the [Denver] Broncos, [Miami] Dolphins, New York Giants. Recent virtuals with New England and Arizona. Local Day with the [San Francisco] 49ers.”

The California native played 16 games in three seasons (2019-21) with UC Berkeley. As a Golden Bear, Anusiem grabbed 40 tackles and defended seven passes.

After his junior year, he would transfer to Colorado State in 2022 and appeared in 23 games. Anusiem notched 93 tackles, one interception and two passes defended in the past two seasons.

When dissecting multiple mock drafts of where he can go, most have him being a seventh-round pick. Via a trade with the Giants, the Cardinals hold the No. 226 pick in the last round of the draft.

Arizona signed Sean Murphy-Bunting during the beginning stages of free agency. Garrett Williams, Andre Chachere, Michael Ojemudia, Darren Hall, Kei’Trel Moore, Qwauntrezz Knight, Starling Thomas V, Divaad Wilson and Quavian White all round out the Cards’ depth at defensive back.

The 2024 NFL Draft commences on Thursday at 5 p.m. PT and rolls on until Saturday. The Cardinals have 11 picks overall, including the No. 4 and No. 27 picks in the first round.
