NBA commissioner Adam Silver, Suns owner Mat Ishbia and Arizona governor Katie Hobbs were on-hand to deliver the news.

“Our NBA All-Star festivities in 2027 will showcase Phoenix’s love of everything basketball,” Silver said. “And we couldn’t be more excited to work with Mat Ishbia and the entire Suns organization for what promises to be an unforgettable celebration of our sport.”

According to the team’s press release:

“NBA All-Star on-court events will tip off on Friday, Feb. 19 at Footprint Center with NBA Rising Stars, an annual showcase for top rookies and second-year NBA players.  On Feb. 20, State Farm All-Star Saturday Night will feature the Kia Skills Challenge, the STARRY 3-Point Challenge and AT&T Slam Dunk.  NBA All-Star 2027 will culminate with the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, Feb. 21.”

A little more than a week ago The Athletic’s Shams Charania and Mike Yorkunov reported that the Suns were reportedly “nearing plans” with the NBA to host 2027 NBA All-Star Weekend in Phoenix. Now it’s official.

Phoenix will also host the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game this summer. Before that, it will host the NCAA Men’s Final Four in April.

Ishbia has said in the past he has had it on his agenda for the Suns to host an All-Star Game in the future. Phoenix is the ideal spot for a February event to take place with how good the weather is.

Phoenix has hosted the NBA All-Star Game three times in the past: in 1975, 1995 and most recently in 2009.

Before Phoenix, the Warriors are expected to host the 2025 NBA All-Star Game in San Francisco, and Los Angeles is expected to host the 2026 NBA All-Star Game in Clippers’ new arena, which is slated to open next season.
