Injury statuses of 3 key Suns’ players revealed for tomorrow’s game vs. Rockets

Phoenix Suns coach Frank Vogel revealed the injury statuses of Bradley Beal (left hamstring tightness), Eric Gordon (left groin soreness) and Jusuf Nurkić (right ankle sprain) after today’s practice at the Verizon 5G Performance Center.

Beal has missed four straight games with his injury. Gordon missed Sunday’s win 123-113 against the Lakers. Nurkić played in Sunday’s game after missing the previous game due to a right ankle sprain, but said after the victory he was grateful to have a couple days off to rest his ankle.

All three of these players only participated in non-contact work during practice yesterday.

According to Vogel, Beal and Gordon will be questionable for tomorrow night’s matchup against the Houston Rockets. Nurkić is still dealing with soreness, but will either be not listed or probable, either way “he’s good to go,” Vogel said.

Here is the Suns’ official 5 p.m. injury report:

  • Jusuf Nurkić – PROBABLE (Right Ankle Sprain)
  • Bradley Beal – QUESTIONABLE (Left Hamstring Injury Management)
  • Eric Gordon – QUESTIONABLE (Left Groin Soreness)
  • Damion Lee – OUT (Right Meniscus Surgery)

“Both (Beal and Gordon) participated today in the no-contact (portion of practice),” Vogel said. “We’ll see how they respond.”

Phoenix is 1-2 since the All-Star break and would love to have these three players back to avenge last week’s 114-110 loss to the Rockets.

“(That was) definitely a game that we felt like the way we jumped out on them early in particular, we felt like we let get away,” Vogel said. “Guys will be motivated to get it back, but also continue to take care of home court.”

Tomorrow’s game tips off shortly after 7 p.m. MST and will be the first of two straight home contests against the Rockets. The Suns are currently riding an eight-game home win steak.
