After trailing early in the 1st, the Suns went on an 11-0 run, which they eventually carried into a 28-point lead in the 2nd half.

And, instead of relying on their big three, Phoenix received some big performances from their bench, including Eric Gordon and Drew Eubanks.

Once Jusuf Nurkic received two early foul calls, Eubanks stepped up into a bigger role. While Eubanks was on the court, the Suns held a +21 advantage. Eubanks ended the night on perfect 5/5 shooting to go with 5 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Eric Gordon, who has not scored over 20 in 11 games, put up 23 points on five made threes. In total, the Suns bench contributed 48 points (a new season high), including 30 in the first half.

At one point, Phoenix held a 28-point lead. However, the 4th quarter woes struck again, and for a moment, it appeared as if the Heat would erase the massive deficit. Miami cut the gap down to 10 points with 5 minutes to go, but the Suns were able to hold on for the win.

The Suns held the Heat to 39.3% shooting from the field. They also turned the ball over eight times, which is a massive improvement compared to their 23 turnovers against the Magic last night.

With this loss, the Heat’s losing streak has been extended to 7 games; additionally, they were swept in the season series against Phoenix, losing both matchups.

Next up for the Suns is a matchup against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday. This is game 5 of the Suns 7-game road trip.
