With the world of sports hitting the auction floor inside Barrett-Jackson’s collective car auction in Arizona, a monumental piece of NASCAR history has been sold.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!2015 NASCAR Hall of Famer Bill Elliot’s 2000 Ford Taurus race car went to the highest bidder who spent $55K at WestWorld of Scottsdale. There was no reserve on this piece of art that Elliot himself signed at the top of hood in black.
The last race this car participated in was the 2000 Michigan Speedway Pepsi 400.
This Taurus has a manual transmission, eight cylinders and the fast-food chain McDonalds’ logo planted on multiple areas. It is not street legal.
Elliot is a 16-time recipient of the NASCAR Most Popular Drive Award, has won 44 races in the organization, claimed 55 poles and had a 37-year career.
His son, Chase, currently is a NASCAR driver who is carrying on the tradition in their family.
