Chalmers, who received an invitation to spring training, was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 3rd round of the 2015 draft. He was drafted out of high school at 18 years old.

While he does not have any major league experience, Chalmers has played 7 seasons in the minors, including a few seasons in triple-A. Chalmers did not play last season after he posted an 8.31 ERA through 13 innings in 2022. However, the 27-year-old has struck out 278 batters through 240.1 innings overall in the minors. The problem has been his control, as he has also walked 184 batters.

Dylan File, on the other hand, is returning to the minors after playing in Korea for a short period. File was originally drafted in the 21st round of the 2017 draft out of Utah Tech University. He is an Arizona native, having been born in Lake Havasu City.

Unfortunately, File started just two games in Korea with the Doosan Bears last winter, as he was nailed by a comebacker during the preseason. This comebacker ended up causing him problems shortly after his debut, leading to his release.

Throughout five seasons in the minors, File started 90 games and posted a 4.04 ERA.

Stay tuned for further updates.
