The Coyotes announced that defenseman Victor Söderström has been “recalled from the Tucson Roadrunners,” according to the team’s Public Relations account on X (formerly Twitter).

This comes after Matt Dumba (upper body) left the game early Monday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins and Troy Stecher (lower body) will be out 4-6 weeks.

Söderström, the eleventh overall pick in the 2019 by Arizona, has eight goals and 21 points in 38 AHL games down in Tucson so far this season.

Split amongst three seasons, the 22-year-old Swede has played 50 games with the Coyotes, racking up one goal and 10 assists. Söderström has yet to make his 2023-24 season debut in the NHL prior to this transaction.

There is no news on the severity or timetable of Dumba’s injury, at the time of reporting.

In his first season in the valley, Dumba has scored twice and assisted three times in 44 games. More known for his defensive play at this stage of his 11-year career, he has accumulated 84 hits and 61 blocks with Arizona.

Once there is more information on Dumba’s injury, Burn City Sports will keep you up-to-date.

Wednesday evening, the Coyotes face the Florida Panthers inside Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida at 5 p.m. MST.
