Phoenix Suns superstar forward Kevin Durant has won the Week 13 Western Conference Player of the Week award, the 32nd of his career, after helping lead the Suns to a 3-0 record on both sides of the ball.

Durant averaged 31 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.3 blocks on 60% shooting and 47.8% 3-point shooting in these three contests. Durant totaled 2+ blocks in all three of these games.

This is the first time Durant has won the award with Phoenix and only LeBron James (67) and Kobe Bryant (33) have more in NBA history.

Durant’s best offensive performance of the week came just last night when he became the 14th player in NBA history and the first in franchise history to score 40 or more points without attempting a single free throw. The Suns won this contest 117-110 over the Indiana Pacers.

Coach Frank Vogel has been extremely complimentary of Durant’s defensive effort, even more so than his offense, as of late.

“I think KD, a few games back, set a tone with guarding Kawhi (Leonard), guarding LeBron (James),” Vogel said postgame last night.  “He’s really been vocal and his leadership has been great in the last few games as well, just setting a tone for our guys, communicating more than usual and he’s a big part of this (win streak).”

Devin Booker was also nominated for the award. Booker averaged 31.3 points, 8.0 assists, 4.7 rebounds while shooting 47.1% on field goals and 38.1% from deep. Booker had his best performance of the season in Friday’s 123-109 victory over the Pelicans, posting a season-high 52 points.

The Suns are finally starting to click, and it is evidenced by these terrific stats. They will look to win their sixth game in a row tonight when they host the Chicago Bulls (21-23).

Kevin Durant reached this crazy feat for first time in his career and Suns’ franchise history
