Convincing Victories

After losing two straight games during The Classic at Damien, the Vikings (10-4) have picked it back up.

The team has won each of their last four games by double-digit points, including coming off back-to-back 15+ point victories.

Sunnyslope’s star and leading scorer is sophomore guard John Mattingly, who is currently averaging 22 points on ridiculous 56/49/88 shooting splits.

Path To A Ship

The Vikings are coming off a season where they made it to the open state championship but lost to the Perry Pumas. They have proven to be one of the best teams in the state and should be treated as such.

The team held the Highland Hawks, who won the 6A championship last year and are considered one of the top teams in the state, to just 26 points.

Sunnyslope currently stands as the No. 3 ranked team in the state, according to MaxPreps. Their next game comes on Tuesday, Jan. 9 against the 10-5 Hamilton Huskies.
