Perry Coming Off Crushing Loss

The Pumas (10-4) are coming off their worst loss of the season, as they were defeated 78-56 by the Harvard-Westlake Wolverines of California. While this is a bad loss, the Wolverines are the No. 4 ranked team in the entire state of California and are coming off a season where they won the CIF State Boys Basketball championship.

Perry is coming off a season where they lost just one game and were named champions in the state’s first-ever open state playoffs, led by five-star recruit Koa Peat.

The team has already lost three more games than they did throughout the entire last season. However, they are still ranked as a top-three team in the state and are the team to beat.

Tigers Look To Get Back On Track

After starting the season with six straight victories, The Tigers (7-5) have lost five of their last six games played.

The team’s star player has been senior guard Nazir Richardson. Through 12 games, he is averaging 14.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.0 steals per game.

Gilbert can get back on track and prove that they should be taken seriously with a victory here against one of the state’s top teams.
