The Jackrabbits move to 9-3 on the season, as they started the season 7-0 and then dropped three straight but are now back on track.
Our Jackrabbits Boys Basketball team took the WIN over the Jaguars of Desert Ridge! With this WIN they increased their WINNING record to
3-0 and overall 8-0! Way to go Jackrabbits! next game is Thursday at HOME starting at 4PM. pic.twitter.com/2Iuo4bwHeK— Mesa Athletics (@MesaHSathletics) December 6, 2023
This was a huge win for the team as it gave them back the confidence and momentum they needed, defeating a Huskies team that has had success to start the season.
Mesa went 21-9 last season and entered the open state playoffs as the No. 20 seed. However, they lost 76-60 to the Desert Mountain Wolves in the first round. They will look to enter the playoffs again but make a much deeper run and potentially come away with a title.
Huskies Drop One
The Hamilton Huskies have been one of the most improved teams so far. The team went 4-20 and did not show much life at all last season.
Even with the loss to Mesa, Hamilton is still 9-5 and has competed with several high-level teams in the state.
While they may not be a top team in the state just yet, the Huskies are making their way up there as the season progresses.
What Is Next
The Jackrabbits’ next matchup comes on Thursday, Dec. 28 against the 8-11 Liberty Panthers of Texas. This will be played at the Bay City Holiday Classic.
Excited to be competing in the Bay City Holiday Classic! https://t.co/cnVGqAlbd4
