This action comes as Wilkinson was heading into his final week of a 21-day practice window, following him being designated to return from injured reserve on Nov. 29. Had he not, Wilkinson would have been ineligible to play for the remainder of the 2023 season.
Since Oct. 28, Wilkinson has been on the IR and out of the Cardinals lineup due to a neck injury.
Prior to his setback, Wilkinson has started and played in six games so far during his first season in Arizona.
Before being a Cardinal, Wilkinson spent six years split between the Denver Broncos (4), Chicago Bears (1) and Atlanta Falcons (1).
With Wilkinson’s return, that formulates an important question.
Does OL Trystan Colon start and Wilkinson backs him up against the 49ers or vice versa?
That is a dilemma that Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon will have to consider before tomorrow.
Arizona hosts San Francisco tomorrow afternoon inside State Farm Stadium at 2:05 p.m. on CBS.
