On Oct. 28, the Cardinals placed Wilkinson on the IR a day before they lost 31-24 to the Baltimore Ravens.
Since then, Wilkinson missed the last five games, but now gets 21 days to shake off some rust and work his way back to playing again this season.
Once they believe he is ready, Arizona can activate him to the 53-man roster.
So far, Wilkinson has started all six games he has played in during his first season in the valley.
Before arriving in Arizona, Wilkinson spent four years with the Denver Broncos before one season on the Chicago Bears and Atlanta Falcons each.
With the Cardinals playing the Pittsburgh Steelers on Dec. 3, that is the first time Elijah Wilkinson could suit up again in the NFL after his recovery.
