Hamilton Soccer Defeats Gilbert

The Hamilton Huskies’ Varsity Boys Soccer team defeated the Gilbert Tigers 3-0 in Wednesday’s road matchup.

Hamilton Stays Hot

The Huskies (6-2) are rolling to start the season and have outscored opponents 18-9 through the first eight games.

The team is coming off a season where they finished 15-5-1 and lost in the second round of the 6A conference playoffs to Brophy College Prep.

Their leading goalscorer so far is senior Alejandro Acevedo, who has five goals and two assists in seven games played.

Hamilton has had immense regular season success but the goal remains to win a conference championship this season.

Gilbert Chasing Playoffs

The Tigers (4-3) were shut out for the third time this season. They have outscored opponents 14-9 through seven games.

Gilbert missed the 6A playoffs last season despite going 10-7.

The team has started the new season off to a solid start and will look to enter the 6A conference playoffs and make a potential run.

What Is Next

The Tigers’ next matchup is a tough one that comes on Monday, Dec. 18 against the 6-2 O’Connor Eagles.

Hamilton’s next game comes on Wednesday, Dec. 27 against the 3-3 Westwood Warriors.

Both teams will look to continue their level of play and make a run in the 6A playoffs.
