Basha’s Road To Championship

The Bears (9-1) and their players have one clear goal this season and that is to be named open state champions.

Basha made a run to the semifinal in the state’s first open championship but fell short to Sunnyslope.

They have now won nine out of their first 10 games of the season while outscoring opponents 754-459.

Mustangs Try To Stay Consistent

This loss drops Dotson to 6-5 as they attempt to stay above .500.

The team finished last season 14-13 and entered the 6A conference playoffs as the No. 13 seed. However, they were eliminated by Pinnacle in the first round.

The Mustangs will attempt to stay afloat despite this blowout loss and make another trip to the conference or even state playoffs.

Next Up

Basha’s next game comes on Tuesday, Dec. 26 against the 6-3 Centennial Huskies of California. This will be a big out-of-state game for the Bears.

Dotson faces the 7-3 Mesa Jackrabbits this coming Tuesday in what could be a huge victory for them.

Both teams do have different paths but the goal is clear, to make a run in the playoffs and potentially a state title.
