Boulder Creek’s Season Start

The Jaguars (7-1) have had a strong start to the new season.

The team is coming off a season where they went 20-9 and entered the open division playoffs as the No. 12 seed but lost in the first round to Canyon View.

However, Boulder Creek also participated in the 6A conference playoffs where they made a semifinal run before losing 66-63 to Brophy College Prep.

The team’s star player is junior forward Andrew Bhesania. Through the first eight games this season, he is averaging 23.1 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game.

Defending Champions Attempt To Repeat

The Pumas (6-3) are coming off an incredibly dominant season where they finished 30-4 and were named open state champions.

The team has had a somewhat rocky start to the new season, losing three out of their last five games.

The coaching and talent is there for Perry, highlighted by junior five-start recruit Koa Peat.

There are still several games left to play and the Pumas continue to be the team to beat in the state of Arizona until proven otherwise.

Matchup Outlook

Being two of the state’s top teams this season, both Perry and Boulder Creek know what is at stake here.

The Jaguars can further prove what they can do by defeating the defending champions, while Perry can get back on track and beat one of the hottest teams in the state.

Tune in to what may be one of the most competitive games of the year thus far.
