The defending 6A champions have looked just as dangerous to start the season despite two early losses.
The Hawks (6-2) are coming off an overwhelmingly dominant performance where they defeated the West Point Dragons 69-33.

Highland basketball showed what they could do last season finishing 30-4 and as 6A champions, but will look to continue that as the season progresses.
Highland Hawks are State Champions @Highland_Hoops Man to see everything unfold from last year to everything ending up perfectly placed, couldn’t write up a better story.@JulianRivera_11 @cam_cole @DarrelJ66310452 @chanceperkins20 , Evan everyone played a huge role #statechamps pic.twitter.com/LAweH3MvRR

Corona del Sol Picks It Up
After going just 9-17 last season, Corona del Sol has started the season firing.
The Aztecs (5-3) have outscored opponents 506-442 this season, while all three of their losses have come by single digits.
Yesterday vs Pinnacle, Senior Bo Dolinsek had a monster night, tallying a career high 44 pts w/ 17 rebs. This performance moved Bo into 3rd place all time in single game scoring behind Alex Barcello (51) and Lamont Long (45). His best is yet to come! #SolNation☀️ #TakeTheCrown pic.twitter.com/n4uUw5LXpi

The team without a doubt looks much better than they did last season and will attempt to keep that rolling here.
Matchup Outlook
While Highland has a top team in the entire state, Corona del Sol is proving itself as a contender with its level of play to start the season.
The Hawks will look to keep their championship run rolling, while the Aztecs look to make a run into the 6A playoffs.
Make sure you’re tuned in to this matchup Thursday night.
