Desert Vista Stays Hot

The Thunder (5-1-2) have looked elite to start the season, outscoring opponents 16-7.

After winning the 6A conference championship in 2022, Desert Vista went just 10-11 last season and was knocked out in the first round by Pinnacle.

They have lost just one game so far this season and that was to California’s Chino High School. The team will look to keep it rolling with 10 games left in their season.

Basha Continues Underwhelimg Play

The Bears (2-6) have improved from their two-win last season, but are still not competing with high-level teams in the state.

They have been outscored 9-17 through eight games and have been shut out in half of those games.

Basha will look to turn it around and have an opportunity to sneak into the 6A playoffs.

Next Up

Desert Vista has a tough matchup ahead as they face the 6-1 defending champions Perry Pumas. Both teams are ranked highly in the state and have won the past two conference champions, making this a game to tune in to

The Bears do not play for another two weeks when they face the No. 1 ranked team in the entire state, the Sunnyside Blue Devils.

While these are two teams with extremely different paths, they are both worth watching as the season progresses.
