Highland’s Start To The Season

Highland has started the new season 5-2, with their two losses being to Hamilton and Casteel.

The team is coming off an incredibly dominant season where they finished 30-4 and were crowned 6A conference champions with their 63-61 victory against Brophy.

The Hawks did lose an integral part of last season’s team in guard Noah Peterson, who graduated in May. Peterson led the team in points, assists, rebounds, and steals per game.

Despite the loss, Highland is well-coached and has the personnel to compete for a 6A championship. Head coach Todd Fazio is heading into his sixth season at the helm and will look to bring the team another championship.

West Point Starts Off Strong

After losing their very first game of the season to the Thunderbird Titans, West Point has won four straight.

During that stretch, the team is locking up defensively, as they are averaging over 66 points and allowing just over 40 points a game.

The Dragons went just 8-18 last season but look much improved and have an opportunity to make some playoff noise if this level of play continues.

Matchup Outlook

While there are a ton of games left to go in the season, this matchup could be crucial for both teams and how the rest of their season goes.

West Point looks to continue proving they can compete at a high level after a disappointing past season, while Highland looks to regain momentum and get on their path to repeating as champions.

Make sure you’re tuned in Monday night for this battle.
