The Lions defeated the Centennial Coyotes 33-21 in Saturday night’s contest.

Liberty’s sophomore defensive lineman Giovanni Nicosia emphasized how prepared the team was ahead of this game. That preparation was on full display Saturday.

Liberty has shown nothing short of dominance all season long, outsourcing opponents 126-30 in their three playoff games.

Coyotes Fall Just Short

Centennial did not go out easy as the team started hot leading the Lions 14-6 in the second quarter.

However, Liberty’s offense proved to be too much for the Coyotes.

Lions QB Navi Bruzon totaled 291 yards and three touchdowns in the team’s win.

The Coyotes highlighted their focus on the game ahead of it and that was clear despite the loss.

The Team To Beat

Just like with any new champion, they become the team to beat and gain a target on their back. Liberty cruised through the season and did not have trouble with any teams in the state.

As of right now, the Liberty Lions are Arizona’s top high school football team.
