Los Angeles Lakers Money Line

I picked the Los Angeles Lakers to win outright over the Suns. Nailed it! I don’t mean to celebrate a Suns’ loss but it was a good pick on my part. It was not a given though as the Suns seemed to have control of this game. Phoenix was up 96-89 heading into the fourth quarter. The Lakers quickly erased that lead as they started the fourth quarter on a 11-0 run. This was a familiar site as the Suns had a double digit lead going into the fourth quarter in two of their losses earlier this season. One of those was also to the Lakers.

Over 224.5 Total Points

I went with the over on 224.5 total points. This was a pick that I was nervous about because of their previous match-up being a low scoring one. The Lakers defeated the Suns, 100-95, in Phoenix’s second game of the season. I figured with the season now being two weeks in, that the rust had been shaken off and that the scoring would be better. Plus the Suns had an additional weapon with Bradley Beal being back in the lineup. I was right as the total points scored in the game went well over 224.5. The Lakers and Suns combined for 241 points.

Bradley Beal Over 4.5 Assists

I was dead wrong about this bet. I thought that Beal would get more assists in the absence of Devin Booker. In the first match-up between these two teams the Lakers forced Kevin Durant into eight turnovers. Beal and Booker missed that game. So, I figured with Beal back that one of the adjustments would be to run the offense through Beal for significant portions of the game to take the full weight of the play-making role off of Durant. The Suns did take the brunt of that role off of Durant but it was Jusuf Nurkic who led the team with seven assists.

Eric Gordon Over 10.5 Points

I was right about this one. This was the bet that I was most confident in. Eric Gordon is a scorer and he has the green light to shoot the ball. He was coming off of a bad game against the Chicago Bulls, where he only scored two points. Gordon having two subpar games in a row is a rarity. So, that’s I was so sure in my belief of him scoring more than 10.5 points. He finished the game with 13.

Jusuf Nurkic Under 8.5 Rebounds

I barely missed this one as Nurkic grabbed nine rebounds in this game. My theory about this pick was wrong though. I thought that he would have trouble staying on the floor in this game because of the Lakers exploiting his lack of athleticism. Nurkic did a good job on defense for the most part which allowed him to stay on the floor. He only committed three fouls and was a huge part of the reason Anthony Davis didn’t have the most efficient game. Davis went 5/14 from the floor. I have to give Nurkic all of the credit in the world for proving me wrong on that.

I went 3/5 on my bets. If you made the bets separately then it was a great night. So please continue to look out for our betting videos and articles.
