Burn City Best Bets: World Series Game Five – Prize Picks Edition

Arizona Diamondbacks right fielder Corbin Carroll (7) scores a run during the eighth inning against the Texas Rangers in Game 4 of the 2023 World Series at Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ. The DBacks lost to the Rangers 11-7, putting the Ranger at 3-1 in the World Series.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are heading into game five of the World Series with their backs against the wall down 3-1. In last night’s game four of the World Series, the Diamondbacks suffered a devastating loss to the Rangers 11-7. We have already taken a look at some DraftKings bets, and now we’re switching over to Prize Picks. Zac Gallen will be starting on the hill for the Diamondbacks, going up against Nathan Eovaldi in tonight’s game five of the World Series.

Game Lines

Prize Picks doesn’t offer much as far as game lines go. One of the two bets they offer, is the infamous runs allowed in the first inning. Now in game one of the World Series where Gallen and Eovaldi duked it out, the over hit. For tonight, I think I’m going to ride with the under. Arizona needs Zac Gallen to return to his Cy Young front runner form, and it starts by getting the first three outs. Eovaldi on the other hand, has been great so far this post season. The Diamondbacks have seen a bunch of other Ranger arms sense then, and I think it could take some time to get around to him.

Another bet I like for tonight, that isn’t necessarily a game line, is Gallen and Eovaldi over nine combined strike outs. In game one of the World Series, Gallen and Eovaldi combined for 13 strikeouts. Eovaldi did carry a lot of the load, punching out eight hitters. However, I think tonight will be an awesome pitcher’s duel. It has to be if the Diamondbacks want to stay alive.

Pitcher Props

You couldn’t ask for a better game five matchup than Gallen vs Eovaldi. In game one of the World Series, and throughout the majority of the playoffs, Gallen hasn’t been his true self. Tonight, though, I think he will bring his best stuff. Which again, he has to if the Diamondbacks want a chance at a game six.

Both Zac Gallen and Nathan Eovaldi have strike out lines set at 4.5 and I love the overs. Eovaldi is a clear over, in game one he punched out eight hitters in his four and two thirds’ innings of work. In game one, Gallen hit his over with 5 strike outs in five complete innings of work. What we saw yesterday, I don’t think that will be replicated today. The Offenses are going to be a lot slower with these two on the hill.

Lastly for pitching bets, I like Eovaldi over 15.5 outs recorded. In game one he went under that mark, but the Rangers are trying to win the World Series tonight. I think they will their ace out there tonight to try and do that.

Hitter Props

Christian Walker swung the bat well last night, and if there’s one thing about Walker, he stays hot. The Diamondbacks first baseman has a hits + runs + RBIs line set at 1.5 and I think he will go over that mark. Walker collected three hits and one run last night. I believe his swings in last night’s game four of the World Series will translate well over to tonight’s game five.

I also like Corbin Carroll to go over the 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs mark as well. Carroll has been a big part of the Diamondbacks success. Even if the snakes can’t force another game, I think Carroll will end his season on a high note.

The Phoenix Special

Tonight, Prize Picks is offering a combo special with Zac Gallen and Clayton Keller. The Combo is Gallen strikeouts and Keller over 7.5 shots on goal + strikeouts. For Phoenix sports fans, this is such a fun bet to play. I like the over, the Coyotes are coming off a massive win, and their captain is going to get involved tonight.
