Only a couple games into his Phoenix Suns career, Eric Gordon has been thrust into a much larger role with Devin Booker and Bradley Beal dealing with injuries.

Booker (left ankle sprain) played in game one, but Beal (back spasms) has not played yet this season. Both will be out again tonight after missing Thursday’s 100-85 loss against the Lakers.

In this game, Gordon had 15 points and two rebounds. However, he was a -27 on the floor starting in place of Booker. Overall, Gordon has struggled from the floor (shooting only 10-of-32), but said in this interview that he is not worried at all about it.

Even with a depleted roster, Gordon remains confident in what the Suns can do with their revamped depth.

“If we really want to be a real elite team, we’ve got to win with guys that aren’t on the floor sometimes,” Gordon said

The Suns play their home opener tonight against the Utah Jazz at 7 p.m. MST.
