First Quarter

The Los Angeles Lakers came out playing with high intensity and this was not matched by the Suns. The Lakers started the game on a 7-0 run. The Suns had two turnovers in the first two minutes of the game.

The Lakers were playing aggressive on the defensive end Taurean Prince had two fouls but also had two steals. Anthony Davis had four blocks in first six minutes of the game.

The Lakers seemed to be in complete control but the Suns were able to stay in the game despite the mistakes. Los Angeles was up 15-13 with 2:55 left in the third quarter.

Second Quarter

Jaxson Hayes came into the game and had an immediate impact as pick and roller. He was setting and picks and rolling for LeBron James and D’Angelo Russell. The Suns had lots of trouble with Hayes rolling to the basket.

The Suns were able to stay in the game because of the offense of Kevin Durant. Durant was 5/5 from the field on all mid-range jumpers to start the quarter.

Anthony Davis was dominant on the defensive end the first quarter and then showed off the offensive skills in the third quarter. LeBron James joined in the offensive fun as well.

The offense looked a lot better for both teams in the second quarter. The Lakers outscored the Suns by eight points in the quarter.

Los Angeles led by 58-54 in the second quarter. The Lakers shot 46% from the field. The Suns shot 40% from the floor.

Third Quarter

There was no Kevin Durant to start the third quarter for the Suns. The Lakers started the second half with all of their starters in the game. Despite Durant being out of the game the Suns started the second half off playing very well.

Phoenix outscored the Lakers 7-4 to start the quarter. Los Angeles took out their star players shortly after that. The Suns continued to play well as the quarter went along.

Drew Eubanks really showed what he can do with passing the ball from the high post, playing defense both at the rim and on the perimeter.

Jusuf Nurkic was aggressive but not efficient in the quarter. He went 1/5 from the floor in the quarter.

The Suns outscored the Lakers, 35-15 in the quarter. Phoenix was up 89-73 after three quarters.
