The Arizona Diamondbacks are coming off a stellar sweep over the Los Angeles Dodgers, and its looking like the Phillies are next. First off, nobody thought this young squad would make their way into the NLCS, and here we are.

Currently the DraftKings sportsbook has the most favorable ending being the Astros beating the Diamondbacks in the World Series (+450). Which is a bit confusing because they also have the Phillies favored to represent the National League, but I digress. The Diamondbacks also have the fourth best odds out of the five remaining teams, Atlanta is the only team with worse odds. They are facing elimination in the NLDS.
Odds Breakdown
Arizona has +450 odds to win the World Series and as of right now, they’re my personal favorite. Here’s why. The Diamondbacks will have four days of rest going into Mondays matchup which for a younger team is massive. They’re 5-0 on the playoffs to this point and have maybe had 1 competitive game where it didn’t feel completely dominated by Arizona. There is so many games played in the MLB season, it’s all about who can get hot at the right time. Arizona in my eyes is the hottest team left.
Could the Diamondbacks be a Matchup Nightmare?
The Diamondbacks have a great amount of momentum right now. Philly will no doubt be a dogfight, but the Diamondbacks have been “embracing the chaos.” Another series win for a great young team, could be an issue for who they play next. Arizona has a plethora of phenomenal young pitchers and a lineup whos being tearing up baseballs.
So, What’s the play?
It’s a very tricky situation for sports bettors with the Diamondbacks. They’re going against teams with a ton of playoff baseball experience. To this point, though, that hasn’t stopped them. My hot take picks is the Diamondbacks with a NLCS win over the Phillies (+210) and a World Series win over the Rangers (+1000).
