Some more good news for Diamondback’s fans as Ken Kendrick is expected to revisit manager Torey Lovullo’s contract extension this offseason.

Kendrick went on Arizona Sports’ 98.7 the game with Burns & Gambo on Thursday to discuss the decision.

“It’s something we normally do at our season-ending meeting, which usually occurs in early October,” Kendrick told Arizona Sports’ Burns & Gambo on Thursday. “Well, guess what? Good fortune has shined on us. That meeting may come later. But it certainly will be a subject.”

“We want him to be a Diamondback, so it should make it very workable to come together on something going forward,” Kendrick said.

Lovullo signed a one-year extension back in June through the 2024 season. With General Manager Mike Hazen getting an extension through 2028 with an option in 2029, it wouldn’t surprise me if Lovullo gets something similar to Hazen.

One of the things Hazen praised Lovullo for was his ability to guide a really bad team and turn things around.

“We retained him after a 100-loss season with my view, and I think one shared by other leadership, that we had not given him the talent he deserved to have to perform. Now he has the talent, and clearly, they are performing,” Kendrick said.

The Diamondbacks are preparing for the NLCS as they’ll take on the winner of the Braves and Phillies. This is the first time the Diamondbacks have been in the NLCS since 2007. And they’re looking to make it a World Series appearance which would be the first time since 2001.
