1st Half

The confidence for the Cardinals may have been shaken very quickly as the 49ers got out to a great start on both sides of the ball. Arizona received the opening kickoff and went three and out. San Francisco got the ball and marched down the field with ease. It took them eight plays to go 62 yards. The drive was capped off by a Christian McCaffrey touchdown.

The Arizona Cardinals had another short drive that led to a punt. San Francisco got the ball and marched right down the field again. This drive was also capped off by Christian McCaffrey running into the end zone.

The 49ers were up 14-0 at the beginning of the second quarter. The Cardinals would respond by putting together a nice drive that ended in a field goal. Arizona was down 14-3 for a short time as San Francisco came right back and scored again. The big play that got them into scoring position was a pass from Brock Purdy to Brandon Aiyuk.

This drive was also capped off by a Christian McCaffrey touchdown. This one was a receiving a touchdown.

The 49ers were up 21-3 with a little more than five minutes left in the half. Arizona followed up with a much needed response to close the first half. They scored a touchdown after a long 13 play, 87-yard drive. Rookie wide receiver Michael Wilson stepped up in a major way catching the final two passes of the drive. A 33-yarder and a 16-yard pass for a touchdown.

This was a huge drive as the Cardinals were able to go into halftime with some momentum. The 49ers were up 21-10.

2nd Half

The third quarter was mostly quiet as the Cardinals defense was able to slow down the 49ers offense.

Arizona’s offense closed the gap with an excellent 11-play, 99-yard drive, that ended with another Michael Wilson touchdown.

The Cardinals looked to have all of the momentum heading into the fourth quarter. Looks can be deceiving though. The 49ers took control in the fourth quarter and pulled away. This included a fourth touchdown for Christian McCaffrey.

The Cardinals would not score in the fourth quarter as the 49ers would go on to win, 35-16.
