Last week, Burn City Bets was 4-1 against the spread. The one loss was the Cleveland Browns vs the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Browns were favored by 2.5 points and lost the game. Deshaun Watson had a horrible game that included an interception and fumble that were returned for touchdowns. Let’s go 5-0 this week!

Dolphins -6.5 vs Broncos

The (2-0) Miami Dolphins are at home against the (0-2) Denver Broncos. Last week Miami defeated the New England Patriots, 24-17. Denver lost to the Washington Commanders, 35-33. Last season, Denver had one of the best defenses in the NFL. That very good defense went to waste as Denver also had the worst offense in the NFL. The Broncos hired offensive guru Sean Payton as their head coach in the off-season. The offense has not looked like the New Orleans Saints’ offenses that Payton coached. The defense has not played to the level they reached last season.

Denver is ranked 23rd on defense this season after being ranked 14th last season. The 23rd ranked defense is not good enough to contain this Dolphins offense. Miami’s quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been one of the best in the NFL. He has completed 65% of his passes for 715 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. Tagovailoa also leads the league in yards per completion at 9.5 yards.

The Dolphins have an embarrassment of weapons on offense led by star wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Denver’s defense has not shown any proof that they can slow down a high powered offense. The Broncos offense has not shown any proof that they can score enough to keep up with a high powered offense. Miami should win this game by more than seven points. Take Miami -6.5 vs Denver!!

Ravens -8.5 vs Colts

The (2-0) Baltimore Ravens are at home against the (1-1) Indianapolis Colts this week. Last week the Ravens defeated the Cincinnati Bengals, 27-24. Indianapolis was able to defeat the Houston Texans, 31-20. Baltimore had a much better showing on the offensive end in week two. Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson went 24/33 for 237 yards, two touchdowns and zero turnovers. The Colts offense also played well. Their quarterback Anthony Richardson had a great start against Houston. He went 6/10 for 56 yards and ran for two touchdowns. Richardson’s day ended early as he suffered a concussion. Gardner Minshew came in and the Colts did not miss a beat. He went 19/23 for 171 yards and one touchdown.

Minshew is likely to be the starter this week as Richardson is recovering from his concussion. Minshew is a good backup quarterback with lots of starting experience. That experience may not be enough to help him against Baltimore. The Ravens defense is ranked seventh in the NFL. Only allowing 16.5 points per game so far this season. Minshew doesn’t have the running ability of Richardson which would give the Ravens defense more to prepare for.

The Colts defense is ranked 19th in the NFL and is going against a Ravens offense that looked to find their rhythm last week. Baltimore scored 27 against the Bengals with a balanced attack. They ran for 178 yards along with Jackson’s good passing display. The Colts are fighting an uphill battle going against this improving offense and very good defense. Take Baltimore -8.5 in this one!

Dallas -12.5 vs Cardinals

The (2-0) Dallas Cowboys will make the trip out to Glendale, Arizona to take on the (0-2) Arizona Cardinals. These are two teams on the opposite end of the NFL spectrum. The Cowboys are undefeated with aspirations of going go the SuperBowl. The Cardinals are winless with expectations of having one of the worst records in the league.

Last week Arizona lost to the New York Giants, 31-28. This was an epic collapse as the Cardinals were up 28-7 midway through the third quarter. The Giants scored 24 unanswered points to comeback and win the game. Giants quarterback Daniel Jones went 26/37 for 321 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. The bright spot for Arizona was running back James Conner. Conner had 23 carries for 106 yards and one touchdown.

The Cowboys destroyed the New York Jets in their week two win, 30-10. The result of this game was never in question as Dallas dominated from start to finish. New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson threw three interceptions. Prescott went 31/38 for 255 yards and two touchdowns.

The Dallas Cowboys are heavily favored to win this game against the Cardinals. The spread is currently Cowboys -12.5. This is a massive spread in the NFL, especially for the road team. One of the reasons they are expected to win by such a big margin is the play of their defense. The Cowboys front seven has done a great job of creating pressure to start the season. They are second in the league in creating pressure. Dallas have pressured the opposing quarterbacks on 32.1% of their drop backs. They should dominate against Joshua Dobbs and that Arizona offense. This is a big spread but Dallas will cover -12.5!
