Arizona State is off to a slow 1-2 start after dropping a blowout loss to Fresno State at Mountain America Stadium by a final score of 29-0.
This season has been tough for Arizona State to say the least. They got hit with a bowl ban this season due to violating recruiting regulations. Their offense hasn’t scored a touchdown in the second half so far this season, their offense hasn’t scored a single point in the last 6 quarters dating back to the first half of Oklahoma State in week 2.
However, despite the bad and the ugly in Kenny Dillingham’s first year of coaching, he’s still not wavering on the culture he’s building at his Alma Mater.
Kenny Dillingham referenced a bamboo tree growing as it takes time to see results, the culture being the water and you will see growth eventually.

Even after the game on Saturday, Coach Dillingham talked about some of the key things that he’s looking to instill in his football team this season as they’re looking to build on what he believes they can become.
“Keep fitghting.” Coach Dillingham said to the team during a 29-0 blowout loss to Fresno State. “Like that was the one thing that I will say we didn’t do is our team didn’t quit. I mean we didn’t have the result we wanted or we didn’t end up scoring which would have been nice but we didn’t quit… “Our kids kept playing and that’s what we’re trying to achieve here is we’re trying to get guys to play hard and to play with passion and care.”
“Like I told them in the locker room. How we played was unacceptable on one side of the ball it was the worst I’ve ever been around in my entire career but the effort and the intent was in the direction we’re trying to go.”Â
Dillingham during today’s presser and Saturday night’s presser shows why Anderson made the right decision for the job. Now it’s about the little things to get Arizona State back on top like what Dillingham said on Saturday.
“I’m going to do everything in my power to keep our team motivated, to keep working, to keep building, and to get Arizona State where I know it’s going to get to.”
