News came out earlier today that Mercury center Brittney Griner won the WNBA Comeback Player of the Year award.

Griner this season averaged 17.5 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 2.2 APG, and 0.5 SPG. Griner finished her comeback season by scoring 21 points in a loss to the Las Vegas Aces.

Obviously, everybody knows what happened last season when Griner was in a Russian prison cell for 4 months.

After what was a horrendous last season for the Star Center, she came back and made the all-star team and had a great season for the Mercury.

Mercury ranks second in fan attendance this season.

Mercury will look to grow around Griner this offseason after a tough season that featured some highs and lows during the season.
