Corbin Carroll was ranked first of all left fielders, and deservingly so. Carroll has been proficient from both the plate this year, and in the outfield. The young phenom is first in both batting average (.283) and on base percentage (.365) for the Diamondbacks. Rookie Corbin Carroll started for the National League in the MLB all-star game in the outfield. Carroll is also the favorite to win the NL Rookie of the Year award.

Carrol wasn’t the only Diamondbacks to receive high praise, Tommy Pham was placed ninth on the list. Since joining the Diamondbacks Pham has been swinging a red hot bat. He recently held a 14 game hitting streak and was a bright light in the Diamondbacks lineup when they needed it. The 35 year old veteran outfielder has a .988 career fielding percentage when in left field, holding 12 errors on 982 chances. So far this season Pham has a .259 batting average with 15 homers, 59 RBIs and a .792 OPS+.

With the Diamondbacks currently in a dog fight for a Wildcard spot, Carroll and Pham have done a great job helping get them in. In 31 games played with the Diamondbacks Pham has been producing runs when given the opportunity. Pham has 23 RBIs in 124 at bats, with a .242 batting average in AZ. Carroll has also been swinging the bat well. In the month of September Carroll has totaled eight hits in just seven games.

The veteran outfielder, paired with the young stud, seems to be a good mix. Arizona’s pair of top ten left fielders have given the Diamondbacks the third Wildcard spot and a 74-68 record.
