Andy Reid even called Fitzgerald “the mayor”, stating “he owns the place.”
While Reid was a coach for the Eagles for a 14-year span, Fitzgerald put up some pretty insane numbers.
In every game against Philadelphia, the Hall of Fame wide receiver managed to find the end zone.
One of Fitzgerald’s standout performances against Andy Reid’s Eagles occurred during the 2009 playoffs, when he led the Cardinals to a thrilling 32-25 victory in the NFC Championship.
During this win, Larry Legend brought in 152 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
In total, combined between six games against Andy Reid while he was the coach of the Eagles, Fitzgerald averaged 107 receiving yards and caught an astonishing 10 touchdowns.
This was all a part of a career that ended with Fitzgerald being #2 overall in NFL receiving yards, #2 in receptions, and #6 in touchdowns.
As for Tom Brady’s failed attempts to recruit Fitz, one can only imagine the ridiculous numbers that this duo would have put up.
The Cardinals were extremely lucky to have someone as loyal as Fitzgerald. It is still a shame that they were never able to get him that Super Bowl ring.
