While Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offensive unit are unlikely to stay on the field for the entire game, Andy Reid has confirmed that the starters will see significant action during the majority of the first half.

Presenting the Cardinals’ defense with an ultimate test merely two games into the preseason.

Arizona’s previous encounter with Patrick Mahomes took place in Week One of last year, resulting in a complete disaster.

At one point, Kansas City surged ahead with a commanding 37-7 lead, they would eventually secure a 44-21 win. Patrick Mahomes threw an impressive 360 passing yards and five touchdowns, while Isiah Pacheco contributed 62 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Now, the Cardinals are under the guidance of a fresh defensive coordinator, Nick Rallis.

And Rallis is up for the challenge:

Although the Cardinals’ defense showcased an impressive performance against Russell Wilson and the Broncos in their preseason opener, this upcoming Saturday’s matchup against the Chiefs will serve as a substantial test to gauge their progress compared to last year.

The Cards are coming off a horrible 2022 season where they allowed 26.4 points per game. This was second worst in the NFL.

Kickoff for the Cardinals’ preseason matchup against the Chiefs is scheduled for Saturday at 6 PM. This game will mark their final home preseason game of the year.
