Diamondbacks Pull Out a Thrilling Victory in Colorado

In a thrilling ball game last night with the Colorado Rockies, the Diamondbacks showed some grit the fans haven’t seen much of lately.

Arizona’s bats were on fire last night. Only one of the eleven hitters that stepped to the plate didn’t get a hit. The Diamondbacks had 14 hits scoring eight runs, five of those runs coming in the top of the 9th down two.

The real spark to this offense, that has been having troubles since the all-star break, has been a red-hot Christian Walker. Walker landed the first punch with a 431 ft bomb to right center field scoring Tommy Pham in the top half of the third.

However, the Diamondbacks did not score again until the seventh inning, after Colorado was able to tie the game up. Then, the Diamondbacks went to the pen. Something that is all too familiar with Diamondback fans as of late. Their squad lost the lead late in the game.

After Colorado was able to put up a three run seventh inning it looked pretty bleak for the Diamondbacks. But then a couple hits in a row happened. Then a couple of RBIs. Arizona would go on to have a total of five RBIs in the ninth. Then, Paul Sewald would enter the game and put every fan watching at the front of their seat before closing it out.

Bases loaded. Two outs. Bottom of the ninth. A movie ending. That ended with a pop up. Even though the bullpen had its struggles once again in Colorado, the offense reigned supreme after pulling out a much-needed win late in the game.
