In a recent power ranking on Carrol was honored above huge names. Names such as Mike Trout, Fernando Tatis jr. and others for his power/speed threat combination. Carrol is indeed having a massive year in those categories, he has 21 homeruns, 23 doubles and 36 stolen bases. He has an impressive .269/.300/.500 hitters slash on the season.

Corbin Carrol ranks third in the MLB for stolen bases, he is also currently fifth in the NL MVP odds. Last night during the Diamondbacks game in Colorado. The broadcasters at Coors field had nothing but amazing things to say about the young phenom.

During the broadcast there was a moment in his at bat where the broadcaster claimed they would be “shocked” if Carrol didn’t win the Gold Glove award. “He has to! he has been great out in center all year.” Out of 130 tries across all three outfield Carrol has only committed 1 error. He has .995 fielding percentage on the year.

Carrol has been in a slump since the all-star break, though. Before the month of July he was consistently finishing each month with a batting average around .350. After the all-star break? .167, the young star still has plenty of room to improve, which should give Diamondback fans lots of hope for the future.
