The Coyotes released an official statement on the matter, stating:

“We can confirm that Coyotes Owner, Chairman & Governor Alex Meruelo has executed a Letter of Intent to purchase a parcel of land located in Mesa, Arizona to be the potential site for a sports arena and entertainment district for the Club,” the statement said. “The Coyotes remain committed to building the first privately funded sports facility in Arizona history and ensuring the Valley as the Club’s permanent home. In addition to this property in Mesa, the Club will continue to explore other potential sites in the East Valley.”

Since May, the pursuit of a new home has been in progress, following the rejection by Tempe voters of a proposed concept for an area/entertainment district.

As for their current objective, the Coyotes are aiming to finalize a new arena location by the first quarter of 2024. This timeline would enable them to commence matches in their new venue for the 2026 season.

But for the meantime, the Coyotes will remain in the Mullet Arena at Arizona State University. The current deal has the Coyotes staying at the Mullet Arena at least through the 2024-2025 season.
