After once being one of the top teams in baseball, the Arizona Diamondbacks have seen their playoff odds plummet over the past two months.

Not only do the Diamondbacks hold the league’s worst record since the All-Star break, but they also have the third-worst record over the past 40 games at 14-26.

Whether it be an offense that looks completely hopeless or a pitching staff that has been inconsistent all season, the Diamondbacks have seemingly squashed any chance of breaking their five-year playoff drought.

At one point, Arizona was second in the betting odds to finish at the top of the NL West. Now, the D-backs are projected to finish behind the Padres in fourth place. Their odds to win the NL West have nosedived to +4500, per DraftKings Sportsbook.

For reference, $10 placed for the Diamondbacks to win the NL West would pay out $460 (not gambling advice).

Zac Gallen has also seen his CY Young odds sink drastically since June. Gallen has allowed at least three earned runs in each of his past four starts. His season ERA now sits at 3.41, which is almost a whole run higher than last year (2.54).

Because of this, Zac sits third in the CY Young odds, behind Spencer Strider and Blake Snell.
