After a disastrous 2022 season full of sideline scuffles, blowout losses, and critical injuries, the Cardinals front office decided to hit the restart button.

Now, with a new general manager, head coach, offensive coordinator, and defensive coordinator, the culture has quickly changed, as experienced by the players during training camp.

Veteran LT D.J. Humphries spoke on the cultural shift that has occurred with the replacement of Kliff Kingsbury with Jonathan Gannon as Arizona’s head coach.

“It’s been a culture shock. It ain’t even been no gradual shift. It’s shock. It’s ‘Get ready or get going.”

“You can’t be 30 seconds late to a meeting. You need to be better at taking care of your stuff without being guided. We’re grown men doing this thing. It’s small things like that. Even if it’s the small things, you can’t get away from it.”

CB Marco Wilson also shared a similar experience, mentioning that Gannon has already gained the respect of many just by providing energy and being straightforward.

While the Cardinals certainly have plenty of uncertainties heading into the new season, there seems to be, at the very least, a new wave of excitement around the new coaching staff.

Led by an energetic head coach in Jonathan Gannon, the Cardinals have plenty of doubters to silence this year.
