Diamondbacks select IF Gino Groover at 48th overall

With the 48th pick of the 2023 MLB Draft, the Arizona Diamondbacks selected infielder Gino Groover out of NC State University.

Standing at 6’3, Groover has a bat that consists of raw power. Last season at NC State, the 21-year-old finished with a .332 batting average along with 13 home runs and 50 RBIs.

Before playing at NC State, Groover spent two seasons in Raleigh, where his bat earned him All-ACC Second and Third Team honors.
