Perdomo is replacing Cubs’ SS Dansby Swanson, who was removed from Wednesday’s game with a left heel contusion. The 23-year-old will join Zac Gallen, Corbin Carroll, and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. to represent the Diamondbacks on July 11th at T-Mobile Park.
So far this season, Perdomo has a .274 batting average along with 33 RBIs and nine stolen bases. Not to mention, he is ranked 2nd in fWAR and 1st in wRC+ among qualifying National League shortstops.
However, it is his glove that has separated him from the rest of the league. Perdomo’s .995 fielding % leads the entire MLB, as he has just one error through 60 games.
The four All-Stars representing the Diamondbacks this season are the most that they have had since 2017. This was also the last time that the D-backs made the playoffs.
