Since being drafted as the second overall pick by the Diamondbacks in the 2022 draft, Jones has unfortunately sustained three injuries already. One of these setbacks was a season-ending shoulder injury that required surgery less than a month after the draft.

Due to these injuries, Jones has barely seen any time in the minor leagues. And during this time, the 19-year-old has struggled immensely.

In the Arizona Complex League this year, Jones holds a .173 batting average through 52 at-bats. Additionally, his 17 strikeouts have almost doubled his hit total this year.

While, of course, it is still incredibly early, the timeline for Druw Jones major league debut is no doubt behind schedule.

Fans may have to wait a few more years before they see Jones paired up with now-rookie Corbin Carroll playing together on the diamond.

Stay tuned for further updates.
