All the stars are in the building, as well as all the future stars for the first ever outdoor draft, the 2022 Major League Baseball draft. The Arizona Diamondbacks have the #2 pick this year and are looking to add another stud to their already strong youth.

After the Baltimore Orioles select 2022 high school baseball player of the year, SS Jackson Holiday.  The D-Backs use their draft pick on 18 year old top prospect CF Druw Jones. Jones says he is ready for the challenge of continuing his last name’s legacy and not folding under the pressure. This pick gives the team a number of options as they have tremendous depth, giving them freedom to make a ton of different moves in the future.

Arizona has been building their farm system over the last few years choosing to build a foundation of youth rather than trade for already proven players, a move I believe is proving to be the right one. The franchise in the desert has a ton of talent under 25 as well as a few minor leaguers looking to break into the majors soon, and do damage.

Druw Jones, son of 10x gold glover Andruw Jones, is looking to get on the timeline with last years first round pick Jordan Lawler, who is playing better than anyone expected down in the double A system this year.

The current major league roster is young and talented, the triple A team is on fire, adding Druw Jones and Jordan Lawler to the mix and 3-5 seasons from now this Arizona Diamondbacks team is looking to be a force in the league. I smell playoffs coming 2024-2034 on a regular basis, and it smells delicious!
