Druw Jones Injured in First Appearance in Diamondbacks Jersey

Diamondbacks Draft Druw Jones, right, shakes hands with Arizona Diamondbacks center fielder Alek Thomas (5), left, after throwing the opening pitch before the game against the Washington Nationals at Chase Field on Saturday, July 23, 2022, in Phoenix.

Druw Jones appeared on Chase Field Monday night, taking swings in batting practice, mostly for the fans excitement. Druw Jones is not expected to make his Major League debut for another 2-3 seasons, but after a shoulder injury during batting practice, he will be shut down the rest of this season, maybe pushing his timeline back.

Now it is unclear at the moment, but this injury will draw attention to Jones from the teams medical staff. They will spend the next few months doing x-rays and other checks on the shoulder, double
and triple checking the young superstars health before allowing him to join minor league affiliates.

Besides this being a “bad look” or “bad luck”, this is nothing out of the normal, Druw is fresh out of high school, still learning his own body and still adding strength and bulk to his young bones.

Most likely this will do nothing but give him time to get healthy and use the physical time off to sharpen his mind. In 2-3 seasons when the number 2 pick in this years draft is ready to take the field in Chase Field, Im betting he will be just fine, mentally and physically.

The franchise will run test and await results over the next few days.
